CASTOR OIL
VS
tALLOW
My skin after 1 yr of using castor oil regularly
(at age 47)
I use both castor oil and whipped tallow but at different times.
Here's why:
Castor Oil is loaded with antioxidants and fatty acids that have strong anti-aging benefits. I want to use it undiluted, at full strength.
But, castor oil is thick and sticky. It's not really practical to use a lot on your face during the day.
That's why I use it overnight. My skin is glowing when I wake up in the morning after applying loads of castor oil on a clean face before bed.
Tallow is more lightweight, non-sticky and the hydration lasts all day. It's full of skin-loving vitamins too. It's more daytime friendly!
NOTE: not all castor oils are good for skin!
The one I use is:
hexane-free
organic
cold-pressed
PROS of Castor Oil:
Locks in moisture
Skin plumping
Softens lines, rejuvenates skin
More youthful skin when used regularly overnight
All natural (if it’s a good castor oil :)
Full of skin nutrients & antioxidants
Calming & soothing
CONS:
Very thick and sticky!
Also, I LOVE this “Roll-On” Castor Oil stick!
It’s SO great for undereyes and touch-ups!
Using this under my eyes regularly really help tighten skin, undereye bags and dark circles - it’s good stuff!
Why I Use Tallow
During The Day
Tallow is Similar to skin’s natural sebum and is also full of skin loving nutrients.
Tallow is silky smooth and non-greasy and keeps a good moisture seal that lasts all day!
Apply over the top of any other serum(s) in the morning for a good moisture-lock throughout the day.
I have yet to find another moisturizer that works as well as tallow during the day.
PROS of Tallow:
Ideal for use during the day
Moisture that lasts all day
Silky, smooth texture (whipped, that is)
Natural
Matches skin’s natural sebum
Not shiny or too greasy
Full of skin nutrients
CONS:
Not as thick as castor oil for a moisture seal
No antioxidants
Not vegan

BAKUCHIOL
Bakuchiol is a natural retinol alternative that can be used more often than retinol.
I use my Bakuchiol serum every day!
Bakuchiol oil works in a similar way to retinol, stimulating the skin to regenerate new skin cells, but it’s much more gentle!
I use a 3% bakuchiol serum that is comparable to 1.5% retinol strength but with none of the irritation. (1.5% retinol is very strong!)
2. PHA Peels For Exfoliation
Exfolating is VITAL for anti-aging!
A peel gently pushes your skin to regenerate and renew.
I do a mild PHA peel 2-3 times per week.
PHA peels dissolve the dead skin on the surface of your face, stimulating your skin to renew itself!
To use this peel, I apply it, leave it for 15 minutes and then wash it off.
This exfoliation rejuvenates, stimulates new collagen and minimizes fine lines and wrinkles. I’ve seen smoother, glowier skin from doing this regularly!
