CO2 Fraxel Laser Treatments

What Are They? CO2 treatments are one of the most effective ways to tighten, smooth and improve skin is by using a laser to create tiny micro columns in the skin. One of the most popular laser treatments for this is the CO2 Fraxel Laser. This forces the skin to build collagen in those columns and it thickens and strengthens the skin. Acne scars and other types of scars can be removed or minimized. It's quite amazing technology.

Recovery Time - CO2 Fraxel laser does have a significant downtime, post treatment. Expect to need to stay out of the sun for about 10 days. Healing should happen within 5-7 days. You may need to miss work and other activities the first few days until you are healed enough to cover with make-up.

Cost - The average cost of a CO2 laser treatment is anywhere from $1-2K per area.

Where - Most medical spas and dermatology offices offer CO2 laser treatment. It is a very popular skin treatment.

My Experience - I tried a CO2 Fraxel laser treatment, medium depth, about a year ago. I'll be honest, my skin looked great for a week or two after the treatment but after that I didn't see results significantly better than microneedling or peels that would justify the cost or recovery time. IMHO I think you're better off doing multiple microneedling sessions & skin peels than paying for one expensive CO2 Fraxel Treatment.
