If I had to choose just one skin treatment or procedure to do on a regular basis, it would be chemical peels.
Why Chemical Peels?
Chemical peels are without a doubt, proven ways to improve skin integrity, minimize wrinkles, even out pigmentation problems, reduce or completely get rid of breakouts, acne, minimize acne scarring and more. Mild to medium strength peels are also relatively safe. Negative side effects of mild to medium chemical peels are rare. If you are nervous about invasive procedures, start with a series of mild chemical peels.
Types of Peels:
Glycolic – Glycolic acid peels are relatively mild. However, they are effective. The molecules of a glycolic peel are small and can penetrate deeply. Great for anti-aging and using on a regular basis.
Lactic – Lactic acid peels are gentle. They are made from milk and are perfect for dry or sensitive skin.
TCA – TCA is a medium depth peel and is made of trichloric acid. Depending on the strength of the particular formula you use, expect your skin to flake or peel within 2-5 days post peel.
Mandelic – Mandelic acid is a slow absorbing, gentle peel that is strong enough to produce results but gentle enough not to cause much peeling afterward.
